Preparing Your Home Before the Painters Arrive

Clear a working perimeter of roughly three feet around every wall to be painted, and remove small items from surfaces that will need to be covered. Our crews handle furniture moving and protection, but valuables, electronics, and anything fragile are better relocated by the homeowner before day one. Take down wall hangings and, if possible, note which anchor holes you want patched versus preserved. If you have pets, plan where they will be during working hours, open doors and wet finishes are a poor combination. Finally, confirm color selections and sheens in writing before the start date. Mid-project color changes are the single most common cause of schedule slippage.
