Interior Design Color Trends Worth a Second Look

Trend-driven color is best understood as a spectrum of commitment. Deep, saturated greens and moody blues have proven durable over the past several years and work beautifully across whole rooms, particularly libraries, dining rooms, and studies where lower light flatters depth. Warmer earth tones such as clay and terracotta read as current but can overwhelm a full open-plan space, they perform better as an accent wall, a built-in interior, or a powder room. The safest approach for a whole-home palette is a restrained, warm neutral base with color introduced deliberately in the rooms where you want to slow people down.
